BUYING LAPTOP

Buying laptop buy notebook or vice versa.

Due to ever increasing performance and portability laptop computers have became more and more popular in resent years. Currently prices for some laptops are near or below $500 (here we are talking about the new ones) and the majority of the machines sell for less than $2000. Having these number crunchers is not a privilege of a few anymore. Buying laptop is now almost inevitable in some cases when people have to marry modern life style with necessity of being productive no matter what. It is expected that about 2/5 of all computers sold worldwide this year will be laptop computers, and, definitely, on of them will be your.

When you buy laptop you should know what to look for, how to

properly identify  and choose it. General and distinctive difference
between laptops and desktops is that laptops  all-in-one units - CPU,
monitor and keyboard are placed in one small body which is of course,
more portable than desktop, and allows for more mobility.
We will refer to all portables here as a laptop, just to make things
simpler,  although you may want to call some of them notebooks.

Below is the classification  for portable computers:

1. Mini Laptop  (Ultra Portable)  from 3 to 4 pounds

2. Laptop  (Value) - from 4 to 6 pounds

3. Full size laptop (All-Purpose) - from 5 to 7 pounds

4. Full size (Desktop Replacement) - up to 9 pounds

All the numbers are approximate.

There is no strict borders in that gradation - buying laptop you may get one which will fit in two categories but, remember one important thing - in general, the smaller and the lighter mean less computing power, storage and limited performance. Not that it is bad at all - sometimes you only need to do relatively simple tasks, so why would you pay for unneeded power?
